Sharpe's Waterloo was the fourteenth TV movie based on the Sharpe series, and was broadcast in 1997. It was intended that this story would be the last of the Sharpe films, but the series was revived for Sharpe's Challenge. Waterloo was the last of the Sharpe movies to be set in Europe.

It was notably that is was the only time that Napoleon, who was arguably the entire impetus behind the stories, made his first on screen appearance in Waterloo, much to the delight of Harper and Sharpe, who finally glimpsed the man they had been opposing most of their careers.

Synopsis[]

Napoleon has returned, and is massing his troops. Lt. Col. Richard Sharpe is recalled to duty and assigned to the Prince of Orange's staff, and is rejoined by former Sgt. Harper, now a horse dealer, and riflemen Hagman and Harris at the Battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo. Sharpe deals with incompetence of the Prince of Orange, who gave orders that sent his troops to slaughter, and clashes with his wife's lover, Lord Rossendale. Sharpe and Harper are there as Wellington's combined army holds the line against Napoleon's veteran Imperial Guard.
