Intelligence reports indicate that a French officer is on his way to Villafranca to assassinate one of Wellington's most valued agents. If he succeeds, Wellington's intelligence network will be in tatters. Sharpe is sent to intercept and kill the assassin, yet after a fierce battle between the French and English, it is Sharpe who is wounded and left for dead.
Sharpe's Sword is the eigth TV movie based on the Sharpe series, and was filmed in 1995.
