Tomas Hacha is a Spanish priest of the Inquisition, he appears in Sharpe's Honour

Described as a big man, a clever man, who knew how to use the Inquisition's secret files, he was part spy, part enforcer, and wholly politician. He conspires with Pierre Ducos and his younger brother, the quasi-partisan and criminal el Matarife.

Ducos promises them a fortune of 300,000 Spanish dollars for their cooperation in the murder of a Marques, the incarceration of his widow in a convent, and the framing of a British officer for the crime. The British officer, one Richard Sharpe, was not willing to cooperate, however.

After Sharpe fouled the plot and killed el Matarife, he resolved to question Hacha and "be as delicate as the Inquisition in his search for answers." (Sharpe's Honour) As a result, the priest offered another explanation of the Marques death, his bruises explained by a fall down the stairs.
